Summer Vegetable Worship Dinner! July 9th!

If there's ever a season that screams "chef-as-artist" it HAS to be the Summer!  This is one of the times where we're given a full spectrum on our flavor and color palates.  And oh what simple joys we get from full baskets of produce straight from the market.  It's the intoxicating aroma you get from smelling a sun-warmed tomato stem that transports you back to humid, bumble bee dodging in dad's back yard garden.  It's slightly acidic and overly verdant and entirely unique.  You'll find it in no other place and it only lasts for a short time.  I don't care how many tomato stems you snort in January, you'll never get it.
So here we are, on the first day of July, eleven days into "official" summer and we are going to be taking yins to vegetable church next Saturday.  An all vegetable menu!

MENU: July 9th, 2011

-Canapes and cocktails
-Roasted corn pudding, palmito, tomato marmalade, corn "in every way that I can think of", basil
-Crispy ricotta dumplings, eggplant puree, heirloom squash, black olive short bread, cilantro pistou
-Ginger arroz con leche, charred pineapple, ginger snap, hibiscus gel
-Housemade candies

$45 per guest (includes wine and beverage pairings)
cash only please

You know the deal, gang.  Wait by the computer for your invite, if you're on the list.  If you're not on the list, sign up in the box to the right.  The first people to fill the table of ten will be coming!  We'll send out confirmations as the reservations come in.

Our First Write Up!

Manchego flan, roasted beet, baby corn
Have a look and see what Lindsey is saying over at Adventurous Tastes!  Thank you so much for the kind review, Lindsey.  It was a pleasure having you and Jeff over for dinner!  Now y'all get signed up and come eat some food!  We'll be waiting!
